Dear Sixte, I really enjoy reading (and cooking) your blog. Our 88 years old Queen deserves very special things. Your clafoutis is a vey gracious way of expressing our appreciation for all she has done for us (and still doing). Regards, Chantelle
I like your appreciation for the monarchy. I think most of the French like the Republic....... although you have a long histoty of the Kingdomship. Regards, Diana
Thank you Diana. You know with French people and kingdomship, it is the musical chairs : after the Revolution, we had the abdication of Napoleon I then the Restoration with a Bourbon, Louis the XVIII !!!! for a short time only because Napoleon came back again (for Waterloo...) So to be honest, I do not really know what the French like or not. One think is sure though and common since centuries : they are never happy with the King, Emperor or President they elected... Warm Regards, Sixte
Thank you Margaret. Nothing compare the relationship British people and their Queen have, it is incredible and I do envy you : there is a little "je ne sais quoi" built during all those years of reign maybe... I could not feel the same in Belgium for example (even though they adore their King..). To be honest, I am not sure French people could do the same...Warm Regards, Sixte
It is awfully nice of you to dedicate your apricot clafoutis to Queen's birthday. Cheers, Valerie
